TCRT5000 3 Road Tracing Sensor Module

TCRT5000 3-Channel Line Tracking Sensor Module is a carrier board for TCRT5000 reflective optical sensor. The board has 3 TCRT5000 reflective optical sensors. Although it is designed for use with line following robots, it can be used in sumo- mini sumo robots for line control. The board has digital output. When the sensor detects an object, the output becomes 0V and when it does not detect anything, the output becomes 5V.

Principle of Operation

Each infrared sensor emits an IR beam toward the surface. Light surfaces reflect the beam back to the receiver, producing a high output. Dark surfaces absorb the light, resulting in a low output. By comparing the three outputs, a robot can determine the direction of the line and adjust its movement accordingly.
