Description

Ozone sensors are specifically designed to detect ground-level ozone, a harmful pollutant that can irritate the respiratory system. The MQ131 gas sensor employs a semiconductor metallic oxide as its sensitive material, which exhibits high conductivity in clean air. When ozone gas is present, the sensor’s conductivity decreases in proportion to its concentration. This change in conductivity is then converted into an output signal that correlates with the ozone concentration, thanks to a simple circuit design.

Highly sensitive to ozone, the MQ131 can detect even low levels of the gas. However, it is also responsive to other strong oxidizing agents like chlorine (Cl2) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and its output will decrease when exposed to these substances. Additionally, the sensor exhibits an inverse response to organic interference gases.
